Dharma Yoga with Raquel

Dharma Yoga is a complete class that has the Yamas and Niyamas as a foundation. It is an union of Hatha Yoga, Raja Yoga and Bhakti Yoga. The asana part starts with Sun Salutations, followed by a Vinyasa sequence and finishing poses. It includes a guided Savasana, Pranayama and Meditation. The whole class focus on surrendering the fruits of actions to God and on developing the intuition. Dharma Yoga Class uses the body to quiet the mind for Pranayama and Meditation so the student leave the class feeling connected with the Divine that lives inside all beings.

Raquel’s life was deeply transformed because of Yoga. She is from Brazil but it was when she was living in Hawaii that Yoga got into her life and completely changed it! Because of Yoga she got into healing and spirituality and became a Reiki Master, crystal healer, Theta Healer and energy coach. The connection between body, mind and spirit is what inspires her to share Yoga and healing with others. Raquel really lives by the moto that each person has the power to change the world by looking within and by the willingness to be better each day.

Raquel has been practicing for more than 10 years. Her Yoga journey started in Hawaii with Bikram Yoga, as a way to stretch from triathlon and bodyboarding. From there she started practicing Dharma Yoga and fell in love with the whole philosophy and discipline of Yoga and it motivated her to do her first teacher training with Dharma Mittra in 2009.

Going back to Brazil for family reasons she experimented with various types of Yoga including Iyengar, Vinyasa Flow, Hatha, Ashtanga and AcroYoga. In 2015 she did another 200 hours teacher training in Hatha Yoga with her teachers from Brazil and in 2016 she went to Mexico to do the AcroYoga.org teacher training.

She went back to teaching in 2016 and was teaching in Brazil until the moment she moved back to the US in may 2018. When Raquel arrived in California she was teaching in parks and at the beach because sharing Yoga is very important to her.

In July 2018 she did an intensive 200 hours training with Yoga Works and she is currently doing 300 hours with Yoga Works and with Dharma Mittra. Raquel is equally passionate about learning and teaching because she believes that the best way to be a good teacher is to always be willing to learn and evolve.

Another purpose Raquel has in life is sharing the vegan message. She became vegan because of Yoga and she is convinced that veganism is the easiest way to make a positive impact in the world and to apply the principles of Yoga. She is very corageous and has a calming yet powerful energy capable of influencing others to look within, evolve and improve.
