Alan began his yoga journey over a decade ago and continues to practice, study and teach yoga as method of positive self-transformation. He has had the honor of training with some of the most inspiring yoga instructors in Los Angeles: Annie Carpenter and Brigitte Kristen – Yoga Works Teacher Training (200 hr RYT); Saul David Raye - Holistic Yoga Teacher Training (150 hrs) & Thai Yoga Massage; and Govindas at Bhakti Yoga Shala.
His classes incorporate the fluid movement of Vinyasa flow and encourage concentration on the quality of breath, physical alignment for safety, and honoring yourself in the moment. Classes are designed to allow students to make the right choices for their personal needs as well as play their edge. All levels are welcome.
Alan encourages students to explore yoga and related practices as a foundation for self-transformation and overcoming the challenges and obstacles (mental, physical and emotional) we all experience as part of the human condition. Personal experience has shown him that sankalpa (authentic intention setting), a conscious yoga practice, the study of eclectic wisdom, meditation, chanting, kirtan and involvement in the community can remove those things that separate us from our authentic selves, the Divine and others and transcend whatever challenges we face in life.
