Sheela Bringi has released two albums as a solo artist (“Shakti Sutra” and “Incantations”), and her work to bridge the musical worlds of India and America has been profiled by NBC News, NPR, Public Radio International, Yoga Journal, and others. She has performed in a wide range of venues, including concert halls and universities presenting traditional material, yoga studios leading kirtans and in dance clubs overtop throbbing, bass-heavy beats (she’s toured with Karsh Kale, DJ Drez, and many others). Bringi’s lush Indian vocals, soaring bansuri flute, and harp have graced 50+ world & new age records (including the Grammy-nominated Bhakti Without Borders) as well as several acclaimed film & TV scores.
Jacqueline Michelle is an Australian singer-songwriter, yoga teacher, model and actress, best known as a Kirtan artist in collaboration with her husband Govind Das. Together they founded Bhakti Yoga Shala in Santa Monica, CA, which for years was one of the most important hubs of the Kirtan community in the greater Los Angeles area. She has recorded six albums as both a mantra artist and as a singer-songwriter, and is beloved for her strong, supple voice and commanding stage presence. Jacqueline has appeared in numerous films and television projects, with a recurring role in the Gilmore Girls.
Govind Das is a California-based Bhakti Yogi and Kirtan singer and his spiritual name suggests “servant of the divine.” He is a devotee of the great Indian saint Neem Karoli Baba as well as Ram Dass and a follower of the path of love. His intention is to share Bhakti Yoga in the spirit of celebrating life and developing a personal and intimate connection with the Divine and his commitment to Bhakti Yoga and the ideals of love, service, and devotion is the essence, which is reflected and transmitted through his music and teachings. In partnership with his wife Jacqueline Michelle, he leads evenings of kirtan, Bhakti Yoga workshops, presents at festivals, and guides transformative retreats throughout the world.
