AN EVENING WITH
SADHVI BHAGAWATI SARASWATI
Wednesday, May 6 • 7-9:30pm
CEREMNY • Marina del Rey, CA
Join us for a rare and intimate evening with Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati – affectionately known as Sadhviji – one of the most beloved spiritual teachers of our time. A Stanford graduate who left Los Angeles for the sacred banks of the Ganges, Sadhviji has spent the past 30 years living, serving, and teaching at Parmarth Niketan Ashram in Rishikesh, India. Her journey is chronicled in her bestselling memoir Hollywood to the Himalayas and most recently published book Come Home to Yourself.
Sadhviji’s work extends far beyond the ashram. She serves as International Director of Parmarth Niketan, Co-President of Religions for Peace, Director of the International Yoga Festival, and Secretary-General of the Global Interfaith WASH Alliance, dedicated to clean water and sanitation for all. She also leads the Divine Shakti Foundation, which runs free schools and empowerment programs for women and children. In 2024, she received a Lifetime Achievement Award from U.S. President Joe Biden for her lifelong commitment to service.
And yet, in person, what you feel most is simply her presence.
The Satsang
Sat means truth. Sang means company. Satsang – gathering together in truth – is one of the oldest and most transformative spiritual practices in the world.
This evening is an opportunity to sit with Sadhviji in that spirit: open, unguarded, and present. Her talks weave ancient Vedic wisdom with the texture of modern life, speaking directly to the heart. Expect depth, warmth, laughter, silence, and the kind of clarity that stays with you long after you leave the room.
The talk will be followed by open dialogue – an invitation to ask the questions you’ve been carrying. This is not a performance. It’s a living conversation, a community coming together to remember what is most true.
Sacred Sound & Bhakti Yoga
The evening opens with live Kirtan by Govindas.
Kirtan is the ancient practice of devotional call-and-response chanting, a primary path of Bhakti Yoga – the yoga of love and devotion. In the Bhakti tradition, sacred sound is understood to dissolve the layers of conditioning and separation that keep us from our own true nature. When we chant together, something shifts. The nervous system softens. We arrive.
Govindas is one of the foremost voices in sacred music today, carrying the kirtan tradition with authenticity and pure devotion.
Together, Sadhviji’s teachings and Govindas’ kirtan form a complete arc: sound to open you, wisdom to ground you, and community to remind you that you are not alone on the path.
